I Wanna Be The Guy +bonus

I Wanna Be The Guy: The Movie: The Game is an 8-bit masochistic wet dream of a platformer. The game prides itself on being incredibly difficult, so much so in fact, that the difficulty is the most enticing feature of the game. That is not to say that it is boring, however. All the various ways that you die, and the plethora of old school game references (or straight rip offs) will keep you very much entertained, if you can make it that far. The game also features a very non-linear map, allowing for various methods of exploring for new locations to get killed at. And you will be killed, many times. The save game file will actually count how many times you perish (the only other stat kept track of is play time). And everything will kill you, from Zangeif to spikes to cherry-tomato looking things to stars and Tetris blocks, and really anything else in the game.

There is a story in the game, and it will all be introduced to you in the opening sequence. You need not think about it again. The game is certainly worth trying out, and with enough persistence, and a good bit of puzzle solving skills, you should be able to progress reasonably far into the game. Be sure to play on medium, though, as save points are crucial. Also recommended is, after giving it a good bit of time on your own, let a friend play, and giggle menacingly as they fall into traps that you have long since mastered. Truly enjoyable for all involved, almost.

It is worth pointing out that the game is likely heavily inspired by 人生オワタ\(^o^)/の大冒険 (The Life Ending Adventure), a 2chan inspired and created Flash based platforming game whose sole purpose is to kill you in unexpected ways. There are actually entire segments of this game that have surprising facsimiles in IWBTG. This game is certainly worth giving a shot as well.
