Airport trading The Airports Council International’s Europe Airport Trading Conference & Exhibition is due to take place at Fiere di Verona in Italy (to February 27).

Commission reports The European Commission is due to present its annual joint report, prepared with the 27 member states, on pensions, healthcare and long-term care.

German strike talks German employers and public service workers are scheduled to hold talks following strikes over pay. The strikes, which began on February 14, have affected hospitals, day care centres and other public facilities.

President to be sworn in Lee Myung-bak is due to be inaugurated as the new president of South Korea following December’s election.

East Timor mandate The United Nations Security Council is due to meet in New York to renew the mandate in East Timor, which expires tomorrow.

Money laundering talks The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s Financial Action Task Force on money laundering is scheduled to meet in Paris (to February 29).

Israeli PM visits Japan Ehud Olmert, the Israeli prime minister, is due to visit Japan to discuss a Japan-proposed agricultural project aimed at building peace and prosperity in the Middle East (to February 28).

Fairtrade campaign The annual campaigns, Fairtrade Fortnight and the Fairtrade Woman online diary, are due to take place (to March 9).

Lebanese parliament votes The parliament of Lebanon is due to attempt again to vote for a new president.

Canadian budget Jim Flaherty, the Canadian finance minister, is due to present his budget in the House of Commons in Ottawa.

Climate change talks The fourth annual Brussels Climate Change Conference is scheduled to take place. The theme will be: EU climate change policy after Bali (to February 27).

Sarkozy in South Africa Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president, is scheduled to visit South Africa to discuss peace-keeping operations (to February 27).

Festival focus A conference in Reykjavik, Iceland, is due to focus on best practice in festival and event organisation (to February 29).

Iranian president in Iraq Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, is due to visit Iraq at the invitation of Jalal Talabani, Iraqi president. Teheran-Baghdad relations have improved since the end of Saddam Hussein’s rule (to March 3).

Human resources for Health The Global Forum on Human Resources for Health is scheduled to take place in Kampala, Uganda. The agenda will include life expectancies and new killer diseases (to March 7).
