Apparently you have to download tons of add on stuff for this to be even a little useful.

I'm running this right now. It's actually really easy. Get beta, download cracked maps, put them in the right folder and use lazylauncher. Sadly, you can't pick you race so you just have to keep restarting till you get the one you want.

I just played Zerg, it was fun as hell. The Zergling pathfinding is so cool, I love how they act like a horde of cockroaches now instead of bouncing off each other like they they did in SC1.

Played a little of the demo at my friends house last night. Only played for about 10 minutes but managed to see my zergling horde annihilated by a combination of the new protoss Colussus and the terran giant mecha things.

It's a beta crack, so it's effectively the skirmish mode sans race and team options. It's out whenever Blizzard says it's out.

anyways, it's blizzard. it was announced for release in 2010 but with their track record expect that to be a very conservative estimate.

There's like...no channels that I can see on SC2 beta. Out-of-game communication is through an instant messenger type of thing with people on your contact list only.
