The one thing I'll give her is that at what she does she doesn't hide behind some manufactured "I'm a perfect virgin" persona even though her self imposed image is still manufactured. She owns the slutty I've done too many drugs party girl with a penchant for artistic pretensions in ways Mixxied could only dream.
I don't think the music is game changing or particularly relevant but at least there's that. Madonna had similar qualities.

There's this guy I work with in his early-to-mid thirties. Anyway, awhile ago I asked him what he was listening to on his mp3 player....of course it's LG. He said he likes it because her music is catchy, even though it's contrived for young girls to become mega sluts who only fuck rich men. I just sighed and told him he had awful taste.

The real recent masterpiece of this genre was Britney Spears' "Blackout" or, alternatively The Veronicas' "Hook Me Up". Gaga's decent music is being approached by sites like Pitchfork and indie hipsters who would never touch Britney, just because Gaga hires top designers and namedrops Warhol. I've just said I don't care much for Gaga. It's the idea of pop music being for little girls that's as absurd as anything in your signature. You know, black metal, that's music for little boys. I still like it, the same way I like Lego -- it's simplistic, it's superficial, but it's fun. Good pop music, however, is for grown ups.
